I just turned on my Apple TV to watch some Game of Thrones from the season I purchased through the iTunes Store only to be pleasantly surprised by notifications. Prior to this there were no notifications, and it was slightly difficult to remember where you left off in the season of a show. Now all is clearly marked.

The first notification is shown as an iOS style red badge with the number of shows unwatched in the season, shown above.

The second notifications are blue dots just to the left of the shows that you have yet to watch, shown to the right

All in all it’s a pretty welcome change. It will make life easier by letting you know what you have yet to watch. With the hidden addition of Hulu Plus as well this is the second hidden update to the Apple TV this week. Apple seems to be putting some TLC into this lately, could it mean they have some grand plan hidden up their sleeve?
